Eco-Friendly & Sustainable Packaging For Your Jewellery
When your jewellery arrives, it should look and feel special. Just as with my jewellery designs, I aim to make the packaging both minimal and beautiful.
It's equally important to me to reduce the environmental impact of my business and encourage sustainability. One of the ways I've been able to achieve this is by only using eco-friendly packaging for my jewellery.
If you're interested in the specifics, here's what each element of packaging is made from:
Gift Boxes
FSC certified cardboard and viscose.
The FSC mark guarantees that all materials come from an FSC forest, where no more wood is cut down than the forest can reproduce. This means better protection of the animal- and plant life, and all foresters have proper training, safety equipment and a decent wage. Learn more about the FSC here.
Ribbon
Recycled wood pulp.
Derived from sustainably sourced pine and eucalyptus trees. TUV OK Bio-degradable; Soil & OK Bio-degradable; Water certifications.
Tissue Paper
99% recycled pulp fibres. PH neutral and acid free.
Parcel boxes, Wrapping Paper, Postcards and Business Cards
All made from 100% recycled fibres.
I'm really proud to say that all of these packaging materials are plastic free, recyclable and biodegradable. It's taken a lot of time and consideration to research how to package your jewellery in a sustainable way, and I'll always try to choose the most eco-friendly option.
In the past I've used gift boxes that were made with 100% recycled cardboard, but came with a foam insert made from plastic. This didn't feel right with me so I made the decision to buy gift boxes that weren't made from recycled materials, but were plastic free.
Ideally, every piece of packaging would tick all of the environmental checkboxes, and that's why I always keep an eye out for more sustainable options.
After you've unwrapped your jewellery, you can recycle or reuse the packaging. If you want to store your jewellery in its box, the acid free tissue paper is perfect to prevent your piece becoming tarnished when not being worn.
Eco-friendly packaging that's made from sustainable materials and doesn't contribute to plastic waste is a key value for my business. It's kinder to the planet and looks just as beautiful as if it were brand new.
